Small bronze grotesque from the estate of a major collector and biker. He’d had a lot of custom work done both on his bikes and in his home so I believe this to be a one off piece made for him. No marks but very finely executed. I love these intersections of high and low culture. I also hate those terms but roll with them because language is hard and messy. So much of motorcycle culture falls into this dichotomy. Very skilled workers in metal and paint and machines, but also drinking and drugs and violence, all incorporated directly into the visual culture of this very distinct subculture. This face is so silly, the craft is so so good.
