Late 19th century tintype album with glass details and ornate clasps that has been gutted and converted to a stash box. For when you really need to do drugs at an antique show. When I was little, and I mean little, my dad carved out the inside of this tome of a book about southern folklore so that they could stash bottles of booze inside it to sneak into this jazz festival we went to every year. Sick. So I’ve always had a soft spot for stellar means of doing nefarious acts. And maybe this was made for storing a rosary and I’ve read it completely wrong. A safe spot to carry grandma’s heirloom. But I go straight to drugs, cool. I’m pretty sure I’m right though. I mean I can’t tell you how many times it’s been a slow Thursday at beautiful, historic, Marburger Farms antique show and I’ve thought, wow I really wish this nice thing I brought to sell at a reasonable price had drugs in it I could use right now. Well, I can and it’s probably about 4 times, and then I just walked down to the bar, but you get my point. Antiques, drugs, the rare intersection of both, all in one genuinely lovely item.
